side dishes in sunny qld

Seasons - Noosa QLD

Hastings St would be nothing without two things, Seasons and the beach! Set right on the boardwalk but away from the hustle and bustle (and annoying teenagers). It is the perfect venue to finish a day of sun baking, make sure to get most of the sand off your feet but they're not strict on dress code. I came here for a late lunch on a couple occasions. Order a bottle or two and indulge in the yummiest pizza I've ever eaten to get the ball rolling (pizza of goats fetta, caramelised onion, tomato, & pesto), I had the seafood antipasto - words can't describe - it was exactly what I felt like, its changes everyday. The fishcakes and lamb pizza come highly recommended - a sneaky bowl of fries doesn't hurt either. Tried to get in for breakfast but there was a line out the door, I'm always envious at the people at the front if the queue as I refuse to wait in lines! Please do yourself the favour and come and dine here!

To yum things up: Perfect for breakfast lunch and dinner, easy going dress code, share the lamb pizza as an entree, late lunch with a bottle of wine, perfect for a group dinner, BOOK

Wasabi - Noosa QLD

Starting from the phone booking to the moment we left the restaurant our experience at Wasabi was faultless. Drinks at the bar on petite stools, entree of sushi and a selection of futomaki. They only have two big mains to choose from, but don't despair they have a faboulous selection of daily specials and a variety of traditional tastes with a spin. You must have the petite fours dessert selection, a paradisiac way to finish the meal. Strongly recommend, but book in advance, I was just lucky to slip in!

To yum things up: only come here if your adventurous, BOOK, have an open mind, try the banquet option, order as you go, try the cocktails, ask for a table in the raised dining area, perfect for a group booking (private dining), have desert, not your typical Japanese

September 2010 - Lamaro's

(I'm going back in time here, so bear with me if I leave details out)

Jess's Choice

First stop for the dinner party club was Lamaro's in South Melbourne a "yuppy pub dining" venue, where there is no chicken parma in sight (PERFECT).

I was bought here late one Friday afternoon a few years back for a wine and the tasting plate. That tasting plate was the reason I chose Lamaro's as our first dining experience. What better way to acquaint ourselves than over a moorish and delightfully filing plethora of food. Pate, white bait, fresh meat, olives, terrine, a true "seasonal selection of tasty morsels from the land, sea & garden".

Its terrible that I've forgotten the rest of our meal, three semi wonderful meals were consumed, and we had never  even thought about documenting our journey for the rest of the world to see.

To yum things ups: perfect place for a Friday business lunch, men in suits, try the tasting platter (order mains after youv'e eaten this though, as you will probably have already released your top button), an older grey haired crowd resides at night, quiet and civilised.
